About
Dr Sugeesh Pathirana is a Specialist in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and has more than 10 years of experience in occupational medicine. During these years, he has had extensive involvement in health and aged care, transport, logistics, manufacturing and process work, construction, hospitality, council work, mining and waste management industries.
Dr Pathirana's interests include management of complex work-related injuries, assisting with development of health surveillance programmes for workplaces, assisting stakeholders to plan and implement occupational rehabilitation, Fitness For Duty assessments, provision of Independent Medical Examination of workers' compensation insurance claims, hazardous substance medical assessments, telehealth consultations and health education.
Dr Pathirana is a SIRA accredited injury management consultant and a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO), offering advice on drug and alcohol testing.
Dr Pathirana holds memberships of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, Australian and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine and Australasian Medical Review Officers Association.
